The world is witnessing the birth of a new era. Spring is here and all around the Arab world, flowers are blooming calling for freedom and justice for all.
Egyptians kick off every Spring on March 21st with a celebration of Mother’s Day. This is a widely celebrated holiday with gifts from kids to their moms and their grandmas, to replaying of movies that honor mothers, and parties in schools with songs & dances dedicated to this special occasion. Choosing the beginning of Spring to honor and celebrate mothers is a beautiful reminder of nature’s abundance and the everlasting cycle of life.
In our home, it’s a tradition to take mom out for a lunch or brunch with the hope to enjoy a relatively cool weather and some sunshine. This year, it was a rainy day and staying home with mom was just perfect. Instead of eating out, we enjoyed a few winter dishes one more time.
